The part shown is the drive shaft of the reducer. It belongs to the stepped shaft parts, which are composed of cylindrical surface, shoulder, thread, screw tail bottom cut, wheel cross groove, keyway, etc. Shaft shoulders are typically used for the shaft position of parts mounted on shafts. Each ring groove provides the correct position when assembling the part and facilitates retract when grinding external or automotive threads during machining. The keyway is used to install the keys that transmit torque. Threads are used to mount a variety of lock nuts and adjustment nuts.
Depending on the performance and conditions, the main journals M, N, Cylindrical P, Q and shoulders G, H, I of this propeller shaft pattern (Fig. A-1) have higher dimensions, positional accuracy and surface roughness values, and have heat treatment requirements.
The material of the transmission shaft is 45 strong, which belongs to the ordinary transmission shaft, so the 45 strong is selected. In this case, the transmission shaft belongs to the medium and small transmission shaft, because the diameter of each outer circle is not much different, so the 60mm hot-rolled round steel is selected as the blank.
