What should I do if the propeller shaft is rusty?

Rust of the drive shaft may not be strange to everyone, most friends will choose to ignore it, feel that it will not cause any impact, but if the drive shaft is seriously rusted, it will affect our driving safety. So what exactly is the cause of rusty propeller shafts?

1. Driving a vehicle wading too much. In the rainy season or through the uneven land of the road, there will be a lot of water on the road after the rain, when we drive the vehicle by, if the speed is too fast, it will splash muddy water, stained on the drive shaft, after the accumulation of time, it will cause the drive shaft to rust. The rust of the drive shaft caused by this situation can remove the rust of the rust part of the drive shaft and do the surface rust prevention treatment.

2. The anti-rust coating of the transmission shaft fails. The transmission shaft will be polished with a professional angle grinder and then coated with degreasing agent when making, after professional anti-rust we get the transmission shaft with anti-rust coating, if the anti-rust coating of the transmission shaft fails, the parts of the vehicle and the moisture in the air oxidize, which may lead to the rust of the transmission shaft. We can observe this situation very directly. In this case, we can re-apply the anti-rust treatment for the propeller shaft.

3. Different environmental reasons. It is common for vehicles to be exposed to wind and rain for a long time, and some parts are oxidized. This phenomenon often occurs in cities with more rain in the south or by the sea. For example, the oxidation reaction between the propeller shaft and the moisture in the air causes rust on the surface of the propeller shaft. When the propeller shaft is seriously corroded, it affects the safety, so the propeller shaft needs to be replaced.

So how to do the rust removal and rust prevention treatment we mentioned above?

1. Remove the rust from the steering shaft with fine gauze, wipe it off, and then melt it with a white candle at high temperature.

2. Apply the melted paraffin wax to the metal part of the shaft, and the thickness of the application is determined by yourself, and the paraffin wax coating can play a role in moisture prevention and air isolation.

3. Melt the rosin powder with alcohol, it has the same effect as paraffin wax, but the moisture resistance is a little better.

Dripping stone wears, it is recommended that you regularly maintain the vehicle to keep the parts in good condition and prolong the service life of the parts; It is very important that you slow down when driving your vehicle over waterlogged roads.
